KENAN 1121 - RESEARCH LAB
The IFML research space is equipped with a variety of research stations focusing on: multi-channel video editing, virtual reality, green screen, stop animation production, and small group meetings area.
To reserve a work station, use the “Make Reservation” button to reserve your preferred workstation for a specific day and time.
You have the option to reserve a lab tech to assist you getting started along with your reservation. If you do not need help, you can leave that part of the reservation blank.
Reservations can be made up to 30 days in advance. All reservations will receive priority for usage. Reservations are forfeit if you do not arrive within 15 minutes of when the reservation starts.
NOTE: Each time slot reservation is for a 1 hour session.
STOP MOTION ANIMATION 1
This station features an iMac Computer with the full Adobe Creative Cloud Suite and a Stop Animation Stand, dedicated Canon EOS 6D Mark II Camera with a 50mm lens and a Wacom Intuos Drawing Tablet with Wacom Pen 4K. The station is set up for direct tether capture where images are viewable in real time on the iMac.
BACKDROP SWEEP PAPER
Features three separate types of roll down backdrop paper. The colors are Green Screen, White, and Black. This station is functional for photographic capture and small videography setups.
STOP MOTION ANIMATION 2
This station features an iMac Computer with the full Adobe Creative Cloud Suite and a Stop Animation Stand, dedicated Canon EOS 7D Camera with an EF-S 18-55mm lens. The station also includes a Wacom Cintiq Tablet. The station is set up for direct tether capture where images are viewable in real time on the iMac.
IMMERSIVE MEDIA EDITING STATION
Features a Mac Pro computer with the Adobe Creative Suite and Insta360 software. The station features a Samsung C49RG9 49" 32:9 Curved Gaming Monitor. This allows students to more easily view and edit both 360 cinema content and also to edit for multi-screen or multi-channel video for immersive projection installation.
SMALL MEETING AREA
This meeting space comfortably accommodates 4-6 people. It includes to two rolling tables, four chairs, and two additional fold out chairs. There is also a wall mounted monitor with an HDMI connection and permanently mounted web camera.
VIRTUAL REALITY STATION
This station has two Oculus Rift headsets are available for virtual reality / 360 cinema content viewing. Researchers also have access to the Kinect Azure Sensor which allows for volumetric video capture.
FLAT BED SCANNER
The station also features a dedicated Epson Perfection V600 Digital Scanner which can scan via the flatbed up 8.5 x 11.7” at 6400 x 9600 dpi and can also scan 35mm and medium format negatives and slides.
KENAN 1133 - BLACK BOX
The Kenan Blackbox has equipment dedicated to immersive sound and video installation production. The space can also be utilized for traditional video production projects.
